Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus, previously known as Tiberius Claudius Nero, was a Roman emperor who ruled from AD 14 to 37. Born in Rome in 42 BC, he was the son of Tiberius Claudius Nero, a former fleet captain for Julius Caesar, and Livia Drusilla, who may have been just 13 years old at the time of his birth. Tiberius had an accomplished military career, playing a crucial role in expanding the Roman Empire. He was recognized for his prudent leadership and efforts to manage Rome’s finances. After being adopted by Emperor Augustus, he changed his name from Tiberius Claudius Nero to Tiberius Julius Caesar.
